Lil Nas X was the latest guest on BBC Radio 1’s iconic Live Lounge this week, continuing a hot streak of iconic and memorable performances.
The musician is currently hot off the back of the release of his debut album MONTERO, which he teased for months, creating a few memorable memes along the way.
For his appearance in the Live Lounge, Lil Nas X performed two of his own tracks – ‘Dead Right Now’ and ‘That’s What I Want’. He also performed a cover of Dolly Parton‘s ‘Jolene’, which faithfully pays homage to the original.
The musician is no stranger to a lil country moment – you’ve only got to look to his debut single ‘Old Town Road’ for that one. He strips it right back, letting his deep, baritone take the lead, while a shuffling instrumental and a quiet chorus of vocalists back him up.

A few weeks back, Lil Nas X delivered another show-stopping performance, this time at the MTV Video Awards, where he and collaborator Jack Harlow gave their single ‘Industry Baby’ a live run.
