Miley Cyrus began her residency on Monday’s The Tonight Show with a touching tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas festival shooting.
Joined by Adam Sandler on guitar and backup vocals, Cyrus performed Dido’s 2013 song ‘No Freedom’ to honour the victims of the Route 90 Harvest country music festival which is now the worst massacre in American history, claiming at least 59 victims to date.
“In honor of the lives lost, injured and affected by the tragic shooting in Vegas, Fallon Tonight & I dedicated this show to not only mourning this horrific event but using this platform to encourage unity, peace & hopefulness!,” she tweeted before the show.
“No Love without Freedom …No Freedom without LOVE. Thank you so much to Adam Sandler for joining me tonight in remembering all those lost,” she then tweeted after the show had ended.

The massacre has already begun to prompt public responses from politicans, celebrites and musicians around the world.
Caleb Keeter who played guitar for the Josh Abbott Band at the festival on the day of the tragedy, revealed that his lifelong support of the the right to bear arms has been completely flipped as a result of the shooting.
