Ahead of releasing her debut album Sour this week, Olivia Rodrigo was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, where she performed hit debut single ‘drivers license’ along with newer cut ‘good 4 u’.
Introduced by the episode’s host – actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key – Rodrigo opened up with an impassioned rendition of ‘drivers license’, singing the heartbreak ballad’s opening verses and first chorus while sitting on a piano.
For the more pop punk-tinged ‘good 4 u’ the singer was flanked by her backing band for an energetic, powerhouse performance. Together, both songs made for a pretty stellar SNL debut.
Both singles, along with ‘deja vu’, will appear on the singer’s forthcoming debut album, which is set to arrive this Friday, 21st May.
Rodrigo’s appearance on the show comes ahead of the season 46 finale this weekend, which will feature Lil Nas X performing latest hit ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ along with premiering a new, previously-unheard track. The Queen’s Gambit star and recent Emmy winner Anya Taylor-Joy host.
