Watch The Avalanches’ Colourful Animated Video For ‘Subways’

2016 has been an absolutely massive year for The Avalanches, with the enigmatic Aussie band releasing their first new music in 16 years in the form of their second studio album Wildflower.

One of their biggest singles from the album was a super lush tune called Subways, and now The Avalanches have dropped the official video for the song, animated by Petra Mrzyk and Jean-Francois Moriceau.

It’s a super colourful and trippy animated clip featuring animals and fruit instead of people. The majestic high point comes when a banana is running for a train and doesn’t quite make it before the doors close.

The Avalanches made their return to Aussie stages at Splendour In The Grass this year, albeit to mixed reviews, and have also just been announced on the bill for Falls Festival 2016/2017.

What can’t be argued with is the quality of their second album. The record was pretty much everything everyone was hoping for, packed full of on-point samples, funky beats and fun times.
