Socially-conscious supergroup Prophets of Rage have become even more super after they were joined on stage by none other than Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and Matt Shultz of Cage the Elephant. With the extra muscle, the band belted out a rendition of MC5’s Kick Out The Jams.
Fan-filmed footage from the recent Nashville show (below) shows a tight performance with plenty of action happening on stage. Prophets Of Rage, made up from a cross-section of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill, rock out the jam while Auerbach plays guitar and Shultz runs and jumps around while handling vocals.
Those who have been paying attention will recall a similar instance when Prophets Of Rage were joined by Dave Grohl to perform Kick Out The Jams a couple of time earlier in the tour, but we dare say that Auerbach and Shultz’s effort is even more impressive.
Earlier this year, Prophets Of Rage teased Aussie fans with whispers of a world tour, so let’s hope they come down under to Kick Out The Jams sometime soon.
