Prophets of Rage confirm that they have finished up their second album, and will be releasing the first single from it this weekend.
In an interview with Kaaos TV before their performance at Provinssi in Finland, bassist Tim Commerford revealed that their follow-up to their debut album, which dropped last September, is coming a lot sooner than we think.
“We’re on to another record now,” he said. “We’ve already finished a 13-song record that we are just in the process of just putting together at this moment in time. So there’s a lot going on. We have a new song that comes out on July 7th. And it’s on to new territory, new sounds and new music.”
In response to a question asking about what the band thought of their debut album retrospectively, Commerford stands by the message that they put out.
“As far as I’m concerned, it was a great imprint of us as a band,” he said. “We made a record, and it was an imprint in time, and we did that.”
While there’s no word yet on what the new song is called, we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled as soon as it drops. Let’s hope new music means a new Australian tour that was just as fantastic as the one they did earlier this year.
