The Killers have paid tribute to “one of the UK’s finest”, covering Oasis‘ classic hit Don’t Look Back in Anger as part of their headlining set at the V Festival at Weston Park in Staffordshire on the weekend.
The cover took place midway through the band’s set, with Flowers delivering the song accompanied by a single guitar. There’s a good chance punters would have heard the song twice over the weekend as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds were set to play at the festival the next day.
NME reports that along with the Oasis cover, the Nevada band also covered Joy Division’s hit Shaddowplay towards the end of the set, which was filled with plenty of their greatest hits. The biggest cheers came for Somebody Told Me, All These Things That I’ve Done and Mr Brightside, all of which “became huge sing-a-longs with the packed crowd”.
The set also featured two tracks from their forthcoming album Battle Born: first single and set opener Runaways, and another track called Miss Atomic Bomb.
