Girl power is taking over the world once again (as it should be) as the Spice Girls – most of them anyway – have finally kicked off their reunion tour in Dublin over the weekend, and the FOMO is so real it hurts.
Around 60,000 people filled Dublin’s Croke Park to watch Scary (Mel B), Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Baby (Emma Bunton) and Sporty (Mel C) performed a stacked setlist of their biggest hits, opening with ‘Spice Up Your Life’ and closing with ‘Wannabe’.
However, it didn’t go off without a hitch exactly. Apparently, the performance was rife with sound issues, so much so that Mel B took to Instagram to address it that night.
“Hey guys thank you for attending our show tonight in Dublin,” she said.
“We will see you in Cardiff and hopefully the vocals and the sound will be much, much better.”
Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) took to social media last week to congratulate the four other Spice Girls on the tour and wish them the best of luck.
“Good luck to the girls today as they start their tour! x VB,” she wrote, before using the hashtag #friendshipneverends.
From the videos circulating online, you can tell that those who weren’t affected by the reported sound issues could not have had a better time. Take a look at some highlights below.
