We’ll be receiving a posthumous anthology of Gurrumul’s most popular and touching songs called The Gurrumul Story. It’ll come with a 25-minute documentary on the legendary artist’s life too.
The album will be released by Decca Australia. It’ll be available on CD and DVD and on vinyl and is due to drop next month.
The Gurrumul Story will comprise alternative versions of two of his most popular songs: ‘Wiyathul’ and ‘Bayini’.
‘Wiyathul (Longing For Place)’ is out today and it’s arrived with its first-ever music video.
‘Bayini’ will appear on the new album with a special contribution from Sarah Blasko.
The documentary will come alongside the album. It’ll document Gurrumul’s rise to fame over his four studio albums.
The Gurrumul Story will arrive Friday, 10th September.
