The Aussie alt-rock larrikins last year hit the road for a live show with a clever twist…
…performing nothing but the many bangers of Spinal Tap (that’s the fictitious band from the movie This Is Spinal Tap, ‘sif you didn’t already know).
And it was such a bloody success, they’ve decided there should be a sequel.
Thus, You Am I will be hitting the road on their The Majesty Of Tap Returns Tour this April and May, playing dates in Ballarat and Newcastle, plus comedy festivals in Sydney and Melbourne.
A message to fans reads:
Tappers,
Our band desired to play a tribute to one of Britain’s loudest, for no other reason than blind devotion.
Since the shows last year, we have individually and collectively shouted at from many a window “When ya gunna do Tap again”?. Often accompanied by thrown animal bones.
That answer has unsheathed itself unto us.
Our life as a band has only become Tapper, and we wanna get Spinal and primal with y’all. it’s time again to align your chakras and smell the glove.
