You Can Listen To New Sia Music By Funding Her Husband’s Golf Movie

Fans of the illusive hitmaker, and recent J Award winner, Sia are being offered the opportunity to hear new music from the singer for the price of one dollar, as a donation to her husband Erik Anders Lang’s Kickstarter campaign for his golf documentary Be The Ball.

The documentary, starring Caddyshack‘s Bill Murray, is described by Lang as “the first documentary about golf and spirituality…ever” and seeks to explore the history of the game while also conducting a spiritual experiment on a select group of players to test different methods used to get into “the zone”.

The delightful trailer for the project enlists the help of some of the couple’s most high profile friends including Katy Perry, Chelsea Handler, Kelly Osbourne, Rosie O’Donnell, Shia LaBeouf and Cara Delevingne.

According to the Kickstarter page, for a $1 donation to the Be The Ball project, all contributors will receive Sia’s newly recorded cover of the song Iko Iko, which they stress is the only place “on earth” the song will be available.

“My grandpa and I used to play golf together. My game now is unpredictable. I’m fascinated by the mental game and I wanna know why,” Sia said of her involvement in the campaign to Idolator.

Additionally, for a $150 donation Sia is offering a personally signed photo, while $500 will buy you a personalised video message. “Sia will pull out her phone, face the camera and record a you personal for twenty seconds,” reads the description. It is not known if anything will be covering her face during the message.

Lastly, those willing to donate $10,000 to the project will receive a personalised video singing experience via video message from Sia, for which, they also stress, she will “face the camera”. For those with $20,000 to donate, if you buy two of these rewards, Sia herself will host a private in person meet and greet at a recording studio in LA where you can hear her sing with piano accompaniment.

So far the project has 115 backers and has raised $22,378 out of its $350,000 goal, with 29 days to go. Watch the video below and listen out for a preview of the song comes at about 2:54.

Sia recently collaborated with Beck and a ukelele for the track Moonquake Lake, which will appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming remake of the film Annie. Sia in fact made several contributions to the Annie soundtrack, including rearranging some numbers from the original Broadway musical.
