Another parody of that cringe-inducing ‘Imagine’ cover by Gal Gadot and her uber-wealthy mates has emerged online. This time around, it’s in the form of an absolute bevy of Aussie musos coming together to perform a tag-team a capella rendition of The Veronicas classic ‘Untouched’, repurposed in this case as a self-isolation anthem.
Cub Sport shared the video on Twitter earlier this evening (Wednesday, 25th March), with the caption “We are in this together. We will get through it together. Let’s remain UNTOUCHED together. Sing with us.”
In addition to Cub Sport, the video features an absolute bloody who’s who of Australian indie music legends, with everyone from Tkay Maidza, Allday, G Flip, Kira Puru, Mallrat, Bec Sandridge, Alex the Astronaut and Lonelyspeck just a few of the artists who contribute. Naturally, it wraps up with the OG songwriters themselves, The Veronicas – and it’s definitely worth watching all the way through.
It’s a rare Nice Thing at a time when everything is pretty bleak, with the music industry facing a particularly uncertain future in the wake of tours and festivals around the globe being cancelled due to coronavirus concerns.
