Hear The Temper Trap’s First New Song In Years

It’s been a leap year since we’ve heard from The Temper Trap, but the Melbourne outfit have just returned with their first new song since 2012.

Dubbed Thick As Thieves,  the track thumps along with a tribal-style tom beat, wild west guitar arpeggios, an Electric Light Orchestra-style bassline and an instantly memorable chorus.

The band shared their new offering on Facebook, and announced that it will be appearing on their new record.

“It’s been a long while coming but it’s finally time to let some of this music we’ve been working on out into the world!” they wrote. “Thick as Thieves is a little sneak peak to get your earholes tingling for the upcoming record.”

“A lot has happened since the last album and those experiences, loves, desires, and struggles are distilled in these songs,” they continued. “It’s a new beginning, a reborn band, a band of brothers. We can’t reveal too much more than this right now but more news to follow very soon…”

Colour us intrigued.

While we wait for more news on the band’s follow-up to their self-titled 2012 sophomore, you can check out their new winner, Thick As Thieves, below.
