Feeds Fresh Faces: Pop Cult

Meet Pop Cult, Callum Voller, Jordan Adkins and brothers Timothy and Elliot Heinrich. The latest signees to 123 Agency, the boys are set to head out on tour with Stonefield for their east-coast Stranger tour soon while promoting their new single Feels Rights.

Hailing from “a shitty coastal suburbia you’ve probably heard of”, their uplifting  and poppy psychedelia certainly evokes the Queensland coastline, while more than living up to band’s name. As does Feels Right.

Anthemic and catchy, the song blends guitars and electronics seamlessly with the vocals sitting serenely on top of it all. Taken from their forthcoming debut EP, We Are Golden, Elliot calls the track “a feel good gospel jam, with a subversive social commentary.”

Explaining the song’s themes, he added that it’s about how “we’re encouraged to be passive and accept the way things are, but our generation have more power than ever to question and change things.”

With Elliot producing everything – also producing songs for Ayla, Battleships, Tempesst and others – it’s no wonder the song sounds so accomplished already.

We’re not the only ones to notice either with the band scoring well with triple j, touring the east-coast of Australia – playing Bigsound and supporting Loon Lake and The Cairos – and even winning the eye of Mac Demarco‘s mum Agnes at Laneway Festival.

Lined up to open the festivities at Big Pineapple this weekend before hitting the road with Stonefield, catch a taste of Pop Cult here below.
