Kiwi folk comedy duo Flight OF The Conchords are planning a big screen movie according to an interview with Bret McKenzie.
McKenzie spoke to website Total Film while doing the rounds of promotion for The Muppets movie, which he wrote several of the songs for. When he was asked about whether a Conchords movie would ever happen he said “We’re gonna try and do a movie. We just need a story.”
The show started out as a BBC radio show before being picked up by HBO as a TV show, which ran for two seasons between 2007 and 2009. A third series has not been planned.
McKinzie has since been working with various films, including an appearance in the upcoming The Hobbit movie, while Jemaine Clement, the other half of Flight Of The Conchords, has been working on movies Despicable Me, Dinner For Schmucks, Rio, and Men In Black III.
