PREMIERE: Immigrant Union Drop New Summer Jam ‘Watch My Mouth’

Melbourne based alt-rock-country kids Immigrant Union have ever-so-quietly dropped their brand new single, Watch My Mouth, which is taken from their forthcoming third album.

Immigrant Union – an outfit that happens to be Courtney Barnett’s old band and features Brent DeBoer of The Dandy Warhols – recorded Watch My Mouth between the home studios of DeBoer and Bob Harrow, both co-front-men of the band. DeBoer wrote the tune while he was away touring with the Warhols, and the track was then mixed in Melbourne by Warhol frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor.

“He and Fever [the ban’s engineer] did a fucking awesome job,” says the band. “It was a no brainer to release the ‘Fever Taylor Taylor’ mix as the first single of the record. Courtney might mix the whole record too, but who knows!”

Immigrant Union have been putting their collective energies into writing and recording this year and Watch My Mouth is the first tasty fruit bared and shared by the group.

It’s a poppy, splashy fun-fest layered with swirling synths, squawking theremins, hand claps and “la la la”s. This tune is a lovely last minute release for some old-school lo-fi summer time vibes to see us through to the end of 2016.

The upcoming third album is due for release next year, and at this stage, word on the street is that it’s likely to be called Judas and “it’s going to be a fucking trip.”
