A Day To Remember, The Ghost Inside, I Killed The Prom Queen Sidewaves Announced

Written by Tom Williams on February 12, 2014

Metalcore fans are in for a treat – A Day To Remember, The Ghost Inside and I Killed The Prom Queen have announced two Soundwave festival Sidewaves for Sydney and Melbourne.

With five albums under their belts, A Day To Remember will bring their pop-mosh prowess to the two shows. The group released their fifth studio album Common Courtesy in October last year. The band’s vocalist Jeremy McKinnon discussed Soundwave with Music Feeds‘ very own Mike Hohnen late last year, saying, “That’s like our best place to tour in the whole fuckin’ world… [Soundwave] is the best touring festival on the planet.” No arguments here.

LA melodic hardcore group The Ghost Inside’s latest release is 2012’s full-length Get What You Give. The band’s vocalist and co-founder Jonathan Vigil has offered up his mantra for the group’s album and live shows: “If you put everything you’ve got into something, it’s going to pay off.”

Finally, Australian metal act I Killed The Prom Queen are back with even more blood-curdling growls, tempo tantrums and thrashy, catchy riffs. After some break-ups, hiatuses and members moonlighting in other bands, the group’s third full-length release, Beloved, will finally drop this Friday, 14th February, and you can stream it in full right here!

“We’ve really extended ourselves,” says guitarist Jona Weinhofen of the album, “but we’ve done it in a way where it’s tasteful and it makes sense with the music. It still sounds very much like Prom Queen.”

A Day To Remember, The Ghost Inside and I Killed The Prom Queen Sidewaves will take place over two nights in Sydney and Melbourne, kicking off with an all-ages show at the UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney on Tuesday, 25th February and concluding with an 18+ performance at The Forum in Melbourne on Thursday, 27th February.

Tickets are one sale 9:00am AEDT Thursday, 13th February. Check out the full sidewave details below.
