AJ Maddah: “The Amount Of Fucking Up I Do On Twitter Is Ridiculous”

AJ Maddah has admitted he regrets many of the things he’s tweeted through his Twitter account, and despite this, he just “can’t stop” using the social networking outlet.

Towards the end of his keynote conversation at Face The Music in Melbourne today, facilitator Marcus Teague posed a question to the Soundwave and Harvest festivals promoter about his constant usage of Twitter.

When Teague suggested to Maddah that he takes Twitter very seriously and very personally, he disagreed.

“I just like good banter,” Maddah said.

“Before Twitter, I was on sports news groups, fighting with Manchester United fans.”

However, Maddah then said he fears he’s sometimes shown people too much personality and thoughts in his tweets.

“The amount of fucking up I do on Twitter is ridiculous,” he said.

“I regret most of the things I say… for about 40 seconds. Then I forget about the effects of it.”

Teague then asked Maddah why he doesn’t stop using Twitter – which led the festival boss to say he’s somewhat addicted to tweeting.

“I can’t stop. I have a short fuse, and it (Twitter) is an outlet. I can’t have an outlet with my wife… cause she fights, and I’m scared of her… so Twitter is my only outlet.”

And speaking of that famous Twitter account, Maddah used it this evening to tell a fan that 3 or 4 Soundwave sideshows – aka – Sidewaves – will be announced next week.
