Today Soundwave in Sydney was interrupted by a savage storm that rolled through this afternoon cutting All Time Low‘s set short after their equipment was damaged by rain. There was talk that the band’s set would be rescheduled for later in the night but Soundwave’s AJ Maddah confirmed that it wouldn’t be happening.
“Sadly a lot of ATL”s equipment is beyond repair in time for us to do anything tonight :(,” Maddah tweeted in response to a fan who asked whether the rescheduled set would be going ahead.
Earlier in the day Music Feeds reviewer Emmy Mack reported on Twitter that the band’s gear was “fucked” but that they had returned back on stage to perform a cappella. See below for their spirited rendition of We Will Rock You.
It seems that, despite the circumstances, the band has remained positive with lead-guitarist Jack Barakat tweeting, “Minus getting cut, our set at Sydney Soundwave today is what I dreamed about as a kid in a band. Rain, Nudity, Moshpits, Crowd-Surfing. Epic.”
He followed that with, “Can’t wait to come back Australia. You continue to be one of the top places to tour.” Music Feeds spoke to All Time Low from Soundwave in Melbourne where the band hinted that they may be back later in the year for another tour. “I don’t wanna spoil anything yet but I’m just going to say this, we love touring Australia,” Barakat said.
