Animal Collective Confirm New Album

Written by Mike Hohnen on May 14, 2012

Last week we were treated to news that AnCo would be releasing two new tracks. Now news has come in today that the band will be releasing a new album very soon.

By posting a video via the band’s official website, the band have kept their cards very close to their chest. We do know it will be called Centipede Hz, and the series of words and phrases that float around in the video seem to be track names.

Centipede Hz will be following in the footsteps of the band’s hugely successful release in 2009, Merriweather Post Pavilion and is also a release fans thought they would never see. Panda Bear, part of the creative force that is AnCo, had previously stated that he wasn’t sure about the band’s future, citing their lives being drained by a tight touring schedule as the reason.

Centipede Hz will be released through Domino.
