Arcade Fire To Score Upcoming Spike Jonze Film ‘Her’

Arcade Fire have signed up to lend their musical stylings to the soundtrack for upcoming Spike Jonze film Her. The new recordings are expected to be conducted in conjunction with work on the band’s upcoming fourth studio album.

Jonze’s eagerly awaited follow up to his 2009 epic Where The Wild Things Are features the pick of the litter in terms of actors including Joaquin Phoenix, Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and the voice of Scarlett Johansson.

Though no release date has been attached to the film at this stage, Jonze has been good enough to give us a bit of a run down, explaining:

“It’s a movie set in the slight future of LA and Joaquin Phoenix’s character buys the world’s first artificially intelligent operating system, It basically turns into a human, this entity, this consciousness, on his computer.”

The official trailer has just been released this week, which makes it very clear that music has indeed been supplied by Arcade Fire. This is the latest in a series of bro-favours between Jonze and the band recorded an acoustic rendition of Wake Up for Where The Wild Things Are, with Jonze paying them back by filming the 30-minute sort film Scenes From The Suburbs.

Arcade Fire’s next album is expected to be released late October, with speculation growing that the record may be titled Reflektor after a mysterious guerilla campaign came to light earlier this week.
