Arcade Fire Unveil Star-Studded Video Featuring Three New Songs

Montreal’s baroque pop maestros Arcade Fire have released the follow-up to their much talked-about video for Reflektor, the first single off their upcoming fourth studio album of the same name. The new, star-studded clip features three songs from the new album — Here Comes The Night Time, We Exist, and Normal Person — with cameos from Bono and more.

The video was directed by Roman Coppola, son of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, who’s directed videos for Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix and The Strokes. Continuing the high cinematic pedigree, the clip features cameos from Ben Stiller, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, James Franco, Michael Cera, Aziz Ansari, Eric Wareheim, and Rainn Wilson.

This Technicolor fantasy of a clip goes for a lengthy 22:13, featuring three new tracks and a bizarre collage of vignettes featuring the illustrious cameo stars. Particularly entertaining is a sequence in which Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler interviews astronauts Zach Galifianakis and Bill Hader, making for some very awkward laughs.

The band recently appeared on US sketch program Saturday Night Live, performing the songs Reflektor and Afterlife, as well as appearing in a couple of sketches to show off their comedy muscle. Reflektor is slated for a late October release and the band will be heading Down Under in 2014 for Big Day Out.
