After teasing the world with signs of new material earlier this week, it seems The Avalanches have set up a telephone hotline where fans can hear a looped snippet of new music, albeit in very low (and truly lo-fi) quality.
As Tone Deaf points out, UK music journalist Matthew Horton recently noticed a new poster on a street in London, promoting that ‘Since They Left Us’ “documentary” teaser The Avalanches shared earlier this week. The poster comes complete with a phone number, where fans can now get a “preview screening” of the film.

The UK phone number, which some Redditors believe is currently looping a snippet of an Avalanches song which Shazam calls Subways, will leave Aussie fans buried in international calling charges. If that’s a price you’re willing to pay, the number is +44 800 098 8938. If you ain’t got time for that, you can stream the loop in question, below.
Subways also appeared in The Avalanches’ star-studded trailer for their ‘Since They Left Us’ “documentary” earlier this week, which has left fans expecting either a really weird Avalanches doco or the loooong-awaited follow-up to the band’s beloved 2000 debut album Since I Left You to be announced shortly.
What’s more, Reddit may have also discovered that The Avalanches are preparing to drop a new song called Frankie Sinatra at some point. The track, which may or may not feature confirmed Avalanches collaborator Danny Brown, is still something of an internet ghost, but we’re sure that’s exactly how The Avalanches intended it.
The Avalanches are set to perform at Splendour In The Grass in July, so hopefully their juicy new material arrives sooner rather than later. Catch a recording of the band’s UK telephone hotline alongside the ‘Since They Left Us’ trailer, below.
