UPDATE 02/10/14: The Laneway Festival 2015 lineup has been revealed!
Californian singer-songwriter and reining queen of the blogosphere Banks, aka Jillian Banks, has hinted at an Australian tour early next year, lending credence to speculation she’ll feature on the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015 lineup.
Speaking to Music Feeds about the possibility of a 2015 visit, Banks sounded positive about living up to the rumours of a Laneway appearance, revealing she has Australian shows “in the works for early next year”.
Despite being “really excited” about the upcoming visit, when pressed for some details on her plans, the Beggin For Thread singer was a little more coy. “I don’t wanna give the wrong information,” she said. “I know that we’re definitely working on something.”
Earlier this year Banks was named alongside acts Perfect Pussy, Glass Animals, The Creases and Eagulls as part of Laneway Festival’s SXSW 2014 highlights. The festival admitted the list was “a 2015 line-up hint”.
Banks, who was named as one of the top five acts in the BBC’s Sound of 2014 guide, also topped tastemaking music blog Hype Machine’s recent list of the most-blogged artists of 2014 thus far. Her highly-anticipated debut album Goddess is expected to be released this September.
Other acts rumoured for Laneway 2015 include Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, acclaimed UK electronic artist FKA Twigs and German duo Milky Chance, who also teased a festival tour for early next year.
