Damon Albarn Second Sydney Opera House Show Announced

Due to overwhelming demand, Blur frontman and Grammy Award-winner Damon Albarn has announced a second Sydney Opera House show for this December, and tickets are on sale now. Albarn will now appear on Monday, 15th December and Tuesday, 16th December at the iconic venue, in support of his debut solo album Everyday Robots, which was released in late April.

Joining Albarn onstage at the Sydney Opera House will be his new live band, The Heavy Seas, which includes guitarist Seye Adelekan, drummer Pauli The PSM, guitarist Jeff Wootton, keyboardist Mike Smith, as well as a string quartet and a six-piece choir.

Aside from his work with britpop icons Blur, Albarn has also recorded and toured with his virtual band Gorillaz, written two full-length operas (Dr Dee and Monkey: Journey To The West), and lent his talents to numerous collaborative albums.

Full show and ticket information available below. A Melbourne performance from Albarn is expected to be announced soon.

UPDATE 15/12/14: Following a siege in the Sydney CBD, Damon Albarn has been forced to postpone his Monday, 15th December show at the Sydney Opera House and will make up for the show with two Opera House performances on Tuesday, 16th December.
