Eminem Streams New Single ‘Survival’ For ‘Call Of Duty: Ghosts’

Written by Mike Hohnen on August 15, 2013

Out of nowhere, Eminem has burst back into the scene, fangs bared, on new track Survival, which has been revealed for the first time on the latest Call Of Duty: Ghosts trailer.

In the official trailer, the track is competing with the sounds of flash bangs, SAM’s, high-caliber rounds and the like, though you can also check out the official studio audio below.

Joined by a female artist for the hook “This is survival of the fittest / This is do or die“, the track fits in perfectly with the ethos of the game, and once Marshall really begins to unleash it’s clear he isn’t taking any prisoners. Line after line, Shady makes it clear that much like he was did 2010’s Recovery, he’s here to bust skulls and take names.

Earlier in the year we heard Symphony In H, a contribution to DJ Tony Touch’s mixtape, but Survival comes as the first signs of progress on the new album from rap’s biggest recluse. There’s no name for an upcoming record, no release date, though a recent press release contained the info that “an announcement regarding the new album and its first single is expected soon”, which should be enough to tide us over until said announcement.
