Eminem’s Rapture 2014 Festival Tour Dates Confirmed

Written by Greg Moskovitch on October 20, 2013

Australian hip-hop fans in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne can sing “Hallelujah!” with the news that Eminem will be headlining a new touring hip-hop festival to Australia in 2014 named Rapture, and now dates for the festival have been confirmed along with ticket information.

News of the festival, set to feature Eminem alongside Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and more first broke earlier today, via a promo poster for the Brisbane event which surfaced on music blog Project U, and now Music Feeds has confirmed not only the existence of the Brisbane poster but also of a similar one in Sydney (below).

According to the posters, the Brisbane event is set to storm Suncorp Stadium on Thursday, 20th February 2014, while the Sydney event takes place Saturday, 22nd February at ANZ Stadium, with tickets going on sale noon Thursday, 31st October through Ticketek.

The event is being handled by promoter Paul Dainty‘s Dainty Group, who have long been the subjects of speculation regarding Rapture, teasing curious fans on their Facebook page for months, saying “We’re working on it guys!!! More to be announced soon.”

Ticketing website Showbiz have put up a page for the event, which confirms the festival will be held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, though so far no details for the the Melbourne event have been confirmed.

Showbiz also state that Eminem has “handpicked the now, and the next” for the debut of the festival.

Australian rapper 360, who is also set to feature on the bill, has been teasing some “pretty awesome news” coming 8am Monday. Our money’s on an official announcement for the festival then.

To stay up to date with all the details regarding Rapture Festival as they come through, simply follow our handy Rapture Festival Feed right here.

UPDATE: Melbourne’s date has been confirmed as Wednesday, 19th February, according to tour sponsors 2 Day FM. Ticketek now have a tour page available, though sadly it seems the tour posters from Sydney and Brisbane were premature, with Chance The Rapper and Action Bronson being struck off the official list…for now. Dainty Group’s promo video for the tour state “more” artists will be added to the tour – here’s hoping we see those names back on the bill in the future.

UPDATE 2: Action Bronson has officially been announced for the tour! A former chef, this Queens MC and former XXL Cover Freshman is known for his gritty style and slick rhymes. His latest EP Saab Stories debuted Top 10 in the US and solidified his position as one of the hottest rappers today.

Let’s hope this means Chance The Rapper gets officially added some time soon.
