Organisers behind Falls Festival have announced more details of their plans to take the festival up north to Byron Bay. While they will still share digs with Splendour In The Grass at the North Byron Parklands, Falls will be taking place in a totally different part of the 660-acre area.
Making use of the layout already designed by Mother Nature herself, Falls have posted a pic of their new digs on Facebook, talking up their use of “natural amphitheatres, lakes and tree coverage”. The grounds were given their first festival test-run last weekend during Splendour In The Grass, where a number of logistical “teething problems” were revealed, including traffic control issues and a heck of a lot of mud.
The new gaff does meant plenty more space and Splendour have acknowledged the problems, noting that, once punters eventually got through the gates, a good time was had by all. Falls seem to be keen to make sure people get the message that they won’t be experiencing the same issues come New Year’s.
Falls will now be kicking off 2014 in 3 different states, with the iconic Lorne, Victoria and Marion Bay, Tassie legs going ahead the day before the new Byron show. As for the line up, we have good reason to believe Vampire Weekend will be a part of it. The full line-up is expected some time soon.
If none of that is enough to get you keen, the below picture is sure to change that.
