Fat As Butter Festival 2012 Lineup – Official Announcement

Fat As Butter festival is fast becoming one of the most celebrated events on the Australian Festival Calendar and one of the biggest days on the New South Wales Central Coast (Newcastle). With over 15,000 punters last year, organisers had a big job on their hands making 2012 an even better day. Now with the first official lineup announcement, it looks as though they’ve nailed it.

Pieced together with some of the biggest international, national and local talent, Fat As Butter 2012 will cater to all, adding something for everyone. Headlining the day will be pop punk mega stars Good Charlotte, who will be joined on the bill by fellow countrymen Yellowcard. Grinspoon and 360 will be adding a nice touch of Aussie flavour to the main stages. Marianas Trench from Canada and UK’s Mystery Jets will also be performing.

Old school 90’s act Wheatus will also be joining in the fun, but that’s just the bands that will be playing – a whole selection of DJ’s and 90’s Dance artists, such as Effiel 65 and N-Trance, along with our own Yacht Club DJs, who have also been selected to give punters something to get their groove on to.

It’s shaping up to be a huge day for Fat As Butter. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more acts that are yet to be announced!

Update 09/08: In more exciting news, Fat As Butter have announced not one, but two band competitions giving aspiring bands the chance to play on the Fat As Butter stage. triple j Unearthed are once again holding a competition for any unearthed band wanting to play Newcastle’s biggest festival of the year – just head to the triple j Unearthed page and follow the steps. Bands have until September 2 to enter.

Fat As Butter organisers are also giving local bands a chance to grace the FAB stage, holding another local band competition, that will be voted by the public on the FAB Facebook page. Punters just need to send a track, photo and bio to [email protected] for details. Competition closes September 9. Head to for more details.
