Future Music Festival 2015 Lineup

The Future Music Festival 2015 lineup is upon us, revealing the news that huge international stars like Drake, Avicii and The Prodigy will each take the stage at the massive dance festival when it makes its way across Australia next February and March.

Headlining the festival is Canadian rapper Drake who after three acclaimed albums and huge international success will be making his way to Australian shores for the very first time. Dubbed by the New York Times as “hip-hop’s current centre of gravity”, Drake will perform tunes from his acclaimed records, including hits like Started From the Bottom, Hold On, We’re Going Home and Take Care.

Also taking the stage will be one of the most in-demand DJs on the planet, Avicii, who toured Australia for a series of solo shows this January, in the process setting the record for the biggest stand-alone gigs the country’s ever seen by a DJ. As well as his catalogue of hits he’ll be debuting brand new cuts from his hugely anticipated, star-studded second album, Stories.

Future Music veterans The Prodigy will return to the festival in 2015 where they’ll also debut tracks from their brand new 2015 album live for very first time. The Firestarter giants also featured on the FMF 2013 lineup.

The first act on the 2015 lineup was revealed earlier today when Canadian house star Kiesza, widely known for her smash hit Hideaway, confirmed she will be making her way to Australia for the event next year.

“You have no idea how excited I am,” the singer told Music Feeds yesterday. “Australia is one of those place I’ve been dreaming of going to since I was a kid. It’s like something Canadians do, go to Australia for life.”

Meanwhile, South African rap-ravers Die Antwoord will make their return with thier new album, Donker Mag, ready to present to Australian audiences. Plus Dutch DJ wonder-kid Martin Garrix, 2 Chainz, London natives Nero, French deep house producer Klingande, the UK’s Example and a bunch more will also play.

Future Music Festival will make its very first stop in 2015 at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday 28th February. From there the party will head west to Perth at Arena Joondalup, before bringing it all back east a week later in Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds, Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse and finally finishing up at the Adelaide Showground.

Organisers of the event recently explained the reason why the festival will be 15+ in Adelaide and nowhere else in Australia next year. The varied age poilcy is due to the fact that its sister festival Good Life, an underage event, will not be making a stop in Adelaide.

Good Life traditionally has an almost identical lineup to Future Music, and this year toured Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and was held either the day before or the day after FMF. Both 2014 lineups included headliners like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Deadmau5, and Rudimental.

The very first Future Music Festival 2015 tickets will be available exclusively at General Pants from 4pm this Saturday, 25th October. According to organisers every ticket purchased goes in the draw to win a “Meet & Hang” with your favourite Future artist. See the list of participating stores below.

General public tickets go on sale mid-day, Thursday 30th October via Future Music Festival as well as from all 47 General Pants stories nationally and online. See the lineup and festival details below.
