G. Nunan Band EP ‘Crying Cow’ Launch at The Supper Club Tonight + Tour Dates!

Written by Toby Smith on October 23, 2009

G. Nunan Band are proud to present their debut EP ‘Crying Cow’.

At the beginning of 2009, the trio set about a project to see how far they could go in the setting of a lounge room, armed with a laptop and a few microphones. The result is a stellar 4 track E.P., showcasing the tasteful musicianship of three Sydney talents, whilst providing testimony to the benefits of a home-made touch.

In celebration of the release, G. Nunan Band are hitting the road on the “Crying Cow Tour”, kicking off Friday 23rd October with a very special EP launch at The Supper Club, Darlinghurst. Joining them on the night will be Indie/Folk favourites Georgia Fair, who are riding a wave of success following the release of their single “Picture Frames” and a tour with Oh Mercy. Also appearing, will be the phenomenal Aaron Houston (Extended Family), one of Sydney’s finest Delta Blues guitarists and all-round entertainers. Besides the sonic bliss of these three incredible acts, the night will also feature special guests and giveaways – presale tickets are available through Moshtix.

Following the launch, the trio will take their show to Berowra Heights Village Tavern (Oct 24th), Bellingen’s Federal Hotel (Nov 6th), Coffs Harbour Ex-Services Club (Nov 7th), Cool Creek Rhythms Festival (Nov 8th), Cessnock’s Royal Oak Hotel (Nov 14th), Cobram’s Bottom Pub (Nov 27th), and finally a climactic Melbourne EP launch at The Fox Hotel, Collingwood (Nov 28th).

“Crying Cow” – mixed by Syd Green – exhibits the superb dynamics of G. Nunan Band. Leading track “Start Again” rolls in with a nod to Hendrix, before an explosion of funkbluesrock hits the ears with might and groove; crowd favourite “I Am” maintains the funk momentum with a touch of G. Nunan humour; the vivid imagery of “Tour Through Every Room” transports you to a soothing road trip on the countryside, before “Alright to Cry” takes you way back to the smokey Blues clubs of Chicago.
