Green Day Reckon They’ll Be Announcing Tour Dates “Pretty Soon”

Hot on the heels of releasing their brand new song Bang Bang and announcing the release of their twelfth studio LP Revolution Radio, Green Day are now teasing an imminent tour announcement.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has confirmed that the veteran punks will be unveiling a run of live shows pretty damn shortly.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, he reveals: “We’re probably going to be announcing dates pretty soon”.

“We’ve been in the garage hammering [the new songs] out, and it sounds great,” he continued. “Jason White, Jason Freese and Jeff Matika are back with us, and we’ve got the gang back together.”

Armstrong also added that, after one of the longest breaks of their 25-year career, he feels “better than I ever have in my life” to be gearing up to hit the road once again.

“I’m just so grateful to have this band that’s been around for over 25 years… Everything is cool. It’s a great time to be able to go on tour, for a record to feel like this,” he said.

The politically-charged Revolution Radio is due to be released on Friday, 7th October.

And although the band have not given any further hints as to the nature of their touring plans, we can only hope that Australia will be on the cards at some point (sooner rather than later, plz guys).

The last time Green Day visited our shores was to headline Soundwave 2014, where they also surprised fans with an impromptu Sydney pub gig.
