Green Day Gold Coast Show Cancelled Due To Cyclone Alfred

The final date of Green Day‘s Australian stadium tour in honour of their 14th studio album Saviors has been cancelled due to the threat of Cyclone Alfred.

Their third and final stop on their long-awaited return to Australia was scheduled to take place at the Gold Coast’s Robina Stadium tomorrow (Wednesday) night, but the punk icons have made the difficult decision to axe the show for safety reasons as the tropical storm bears down on south-east Queensland.

“It’s just not possible to go ahead safely.”

“Hey Australia, unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control, tomorrow’s Gold Coast show has been cancelled,” the band wrote on social media.

“With Cyclone Alfred bringing some seriously nasty weather, it’s just not possible to go ahead safely. We know this is a huge disappointment, and we’re just as bummed as you are. Stay safe out there!”

Ticketholders will reportedly be contacted directly by Ticketmaster about refunds.
