Hear Dave Grohl’s Monster Scream In New Foo Fighters ‘8’ Clip

Foo Fighters are doing the drip feed thing in the lead up to their “big news” announcement this Monday, and the newest nugget of internet gold is a brief clip of what we can only assume is the first taste of the band’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled studio album.

The below clip was just uploaded to YouTube under the name ‘8’. For those of you playing along at home, the symbol ‘8’ was also featured on Foo Fighters-related artwork leaked this week, and their latest album just happens to be their eighth. This video, it’s 8 seconds long. Hmm.

Despite the tried and true formula we’re seeing in the lead up, Foos have taken an unusual route to get to their new album, one that has seen them travel to (you guessed it) 8 different cities to record. Their journey has been captured in their upcoming documentary Sonic Highways, which will also feature the first music from the record when it premieres in the US on 17th October.

If this video is anything to go by, Dave Grohl hasn’t lost his fondness for throat-shredding vocals. Double track it, compress the shit out of it and you’ve got yourself a hit. Bring it on.
