Following the announcement that Foo Fighters‘ new album has been completed, the band have confirmed that the first new song to be taken from the album will premiere with the Stateside debut of their new documentary series. HBO will air the first Sonic Highways episode 17th October.

As NME reports, the first of eight episodes will air in the States on 17th October on HBO, better known as the ‘Game of Thrones channel’, with each subsequent episode following every Friday evening after the first is broadcast, with no word yet on if the show will make its way Down Under.

Frequent Foos collaborator and producer on the latest album, Butch Vig, recently confirmed via Twitter that the band’s much talked-about new LP has been completed. “We are officially done with the new Foo Fighters album. 23 straight days mixing! IT’S EPIC!!!” wrote a clearly excited Vig.

Meanwhile, back in June, frontman Dave Grohl revealed that fans will finally be able to get their hands on the album this November. Taking to social media, the band also sparked rumours that the album could potentially be followed-up by their first Australian tour since visiting back in 2011.
