HOLD UP: New Arctic Monkeys Single Reportedly Coming “Soon”

Written by Tom Williams on March 7, 2018

Hold on to your knee socks, Arctic Monkeys fans, because frontman Alex Turner has reportedly revealed the group are preparing to release a new single “soon”.

Mega-fan William Hann allegedly got the goss when he bumped into Turner at an airport this week, taking a photo with the singer and telling fellow Arctic Monkeys fans that while Turner wouldn’t give anything away about tour dates, he did say a new single is coming “soon”.

Hann was asked for more details by excited fans, and said that for the most part, Turner remained tight-lipped.

Arctic Monkeys are expected to reveal details of their long-awaited sixth album in the next few months, after they announced a string of European shows over the last few weeks.

They’ve also left a suspicious Splendour-sized hole in their tour itinerary, which has led fans to speculate the band might be on course for a trip to Australia.

Arctic Monkeys’ latest album AM was released in 2013, and the band haven’t toured Australia since 2014.

Last year, bassist Nick O’Malley said the group’s next record will be out in 2018, because “if it isn’t, we’ve got problems”.
