Justin Bieber Signs Up For Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic Space Mission

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is the latest celebrity to sign up for a trip to space, with the teen dream paying $263,000 to get onboard Richard Branson‘s Virgin Galactic mission, along with his manager, Scooter Braum.

The Virgin spaceship is set to take off next year, taking its passengers to the edge of space, where they’ll get to experience weightlessness for several minutes. The rocket-powered aircraft had a successful test run back in April in California, breaking the speed of sound.

Sounds like a dream come true for Bieber, who back in February tweeted, “I wanna do a concert in space”. Richard Branson confirmed the news, tweeting “Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!”

Other rumoured celebrity astronauts scheduled to take the trip to space, according to The Sun, include Leonardo diCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, musical power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. At $263,000 a pop, space travel is surely only for the mega famous at this stage, but the golden question is not how much it costs to go to space but how much we’d have to pay Branson to leave Bieber there.
