Fans in Sydney and Melbourne were left to merely ogle the quality of talent parading on the other side of the continent earlier this month, when Perth-based promoters announced the first lineup for Circo II, featuring Bloc Party‘s Kele Okereke. But they needn’t be green with jealousy any longer.
Falcona Touring have today announced a set of official Circo sideshows featuring a DJ set from the Bloc Party frontman, acclaimed Seattle-based electronic duo Odesza, and Sydney EDM star Hayden James, that are set to take over venues in both Sydney and Melbourne this June.
Kele will bring his solo deep house project over to the East Coast, playing tunes from his newest release Heartbreaker and his debut LP The Boxer, waving bye-bye to distorted guitar riffs and saying hello to electronica. But be sure to hold out for some old Bloc Party favourites thrown in for kicks.
Odesza will be making their first Australian visit, bringing their unique blend of sample-based beats and sun-kissed melodies from their debut Summer’s Gone. While, Sydney’s sultriest, Hayden James, will round out the bill, wrapping up his national tour alongside dance music poster boys RÜFÜS. Tickets to both Circo East Coast sideshows start at $35 plus booking fee and are on sale now.
