Last week, English indie rockers Alt-J announced the forthcoming release of the follow-up to their Mercury Prize-winning 2012 debut An Awesome Wave, to be titled This Is All Yours. Readers can now hear the first single from the upcoming release, the Miley Cyrus-sampling Hunger Of The Pine.
Their sophomore effort, slated for release on Friday, 19th September, will be the indie darlings’ first effort since the departure of bassist Gwil Sainsbury earlier this year. The founding member left the group suddenly, citing a “purely a personal” decision and receiving support from his bandmates.
Readers can check out Hunger Of The Pine, which samples Miley Cyrus’s 4×4 below. Speaking recently to GQ, Alt-J drummer Thom Green said he would be interested in collaborating with the divisive pop princess, who used one of the band’s tracks for a video interlude on her Bangerz tour.
