‘Lost On The Pretty Little Coast’ Tour

Written by Daniel Clarke on January 12, 2010

Three bands, all with a distinctive, unique sound of their own, hit the road to beat the summertime blues. What better way to kick off the new year: Three bands, one from NSW, QLD and VIC, have decided to join forces to take their tunes to new crowds. All having an exclusive sound, these like minded bands have been given strong support from community radio and have new tracks to bring up and down the coast.

After a successful string of dates in the UK and France in October this year, Melbourne’s Blackchords are ready to take on their first national tour for the release of their second single, Pretty Little Thing, from their highly acclaimed self-titled debut album, released earlier this year. Pretty Little Thing is getting a great reaction around the country, and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the country catches onto Blackchords when they hit the road.

Brisbane band Grand Atlantic will release their brand spanking new single Coast Is Clear in January from the album How We Survive. With earth shaking guitar riffs that give way to an addictive pop melody saturation, Grand Atlantic’s enthralling and mysterious new album was mixed by Magoo (Midnight Oil, Powderfinger, Regurgitator, End of Fashion) and mastered in Nashville.

The end of 2009 has seen Sierra Fin with their heads down preparing to record their debut album. The Sydney four piece are set to record with a symphony orchestra to create their concept album early in the new year with good news of Paul McKercher (Augie March, Sarah Blasko) jumping on board. After many gigs throughout the year, including a successful tour to promote their Shake Stare Sleep EP, Sierra Fins live show incorporates a mix of buddy holly inspired antics, blazing ukuleles and a other theatrics never seen before.
