UPDATE 27/10/16: Bank Of Melbourne have announced the winner of this year’s Melbourne Music Bank competition.
ORIGINAL STORY: Bank of Melbourne have today announced the 12 finalists for their Melbourne Music Bank competition and now, the power is in the public’s hands to help decide the winner.
This is the fourth year the Melbourne Music Bank has run, helping aspiring musos get that sought after break into the industry. This year’s winner will receive a whole bunch of goodies, including four whole days to mix and master an EP at Melbourne’s The Studios In The City. They will also get to film two music videos, plus cover art, printed CDs, styling, media training and a photoshoot to go along with an EP release.
The winner will also receive management from Matt O’Connor, publicity by On The Map PR, radio plugging by Varrasso PR and gig bookings by 123 Agency. Oh yeah, and don’t forget they will also get to tour Australia’s east coast and perform at Beyond The Valley festival. So, much, swag.
As of today, and up until 9th October, the general public can holler out loud and clear for their favourite entry. There a prizes up for grabs for voters too, including double passes to this year’s Beyond the Valley festival so you can see the winner in action, plus subscriptions to music sctreaming service Pandora.
Once these votes are collected and counted, the finalists will be whittled down to a grand total of four. This lucky bunch will then go on to perform at the Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on 25th October, where the ultimate winner will be announced. A panel of experts will do the honours and pronounce that final champion.

It confirms what we’ve known all along: that there’s an incredible amount of musical talent all over Victoria. We love supporting the arts and uncovering the next star to grace the Hamer Hall stage.”
