No Support Act For Tonight’s Prince Concert In Sydney

Written by Kiel Egging on May 11, 2012

Tonight’s first concert of Prince‘s Welcome 2 Australia tour at Sydney’s Allphones Arena will be all about the man himself.

Promoters Chugg Entertainment posted a status on their Facebook page earlier this afternoon, saying there would be no support act for tonight’s show, and that Prince should be on stage around 8pm:

Excited people attending Prince tonight, at this stage there will no support & our understanding is that the man himself will take to the stage at 8pm. Please note, times are approximate & subject to change. Enjoyyyyyy!

The statement from Chugg Entertainment comes following rumours at the end of last month that artists such as Janelle Monáe and Delilah would be the support acts for the tour.

Prince is in Australia for eight shows this month – playing stadiums in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.  Here’s a guide to what you can probably expect at a Prince show.
