After a slight delay, forward-thinking festival OutsideIn have released the first names in their impressive 2013 line up, and headlining the bill will be British bass music maestro Zomby on his first-ever Australian visit, with American rapper Freddie Gibbs and instrumental hip hop jazz trio BadBadNotGood also along for the ride.
The line up also sees the world premiere of festival organiser Astral People’s Since I Left You, a performance featuring a who’s who of the Astral People roster celebrating The Avalanches first and only LP. Also announced are Jam City, Objekt, Laurel Halo, Mark Pritchard along with a smattering of exciting local talent. Remember – this is only the first lot of names on the bill, and many more are set to be announced over the coming months.
It’s been a dramatic week for the folks at OutsideIn, what with accusations of logo and branding rip-offs levelled at the new Parklife replacement event, ListenOut – you’ll notice a dramatic change in OutsideIn’s logo from the previous design – but this line up should shake away any notions of negativity and get you excited for what’s sure to be an excellent and intimate occasion.
Set for Saturday, 21st September, the event will take place at last year’s successful venue, The Factory Theatre in Marrickville. Tickets go on sale this Friday, 28th June from 9:00am AEST through The Factory Theatre website.
