Pearl Jam Surprise Drop First New Song In Five Years ‘Can’t Deny Me’

Written by Sam Murphy on March 11, 2018

Pearl Jam have surprise dropped their first new song in five years ‘Can’t Deny Me’.

‘Can’t Deny Me’ is a politically charged cut that seems to be aimed at the current US President Donald Trump.

“The country you are representing / Condition critical,” Vedder sings in a line that’s almost certainly directed toward Trump.

Pearl Jam are about to embark on a South American tour next week and are most likely going to be adding this fresh one to the setlist.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the band choose to put some more new music in their upcoming sets.

The band’s last album was 2013’s Lightning Bolt so understandably fans are hungry for more material. It’s not clear just yet whether this is a standalone release or whether they’re planning on dropping a new album.

The new song is exclusive to fan club members so you’ll have to log in here or become a member to hear it in full. Otherwise, there is a snippet below.

UPDATE: ‘Can’t Deny Me’ is now available to stream in full via YouTube, below.
