Peats Ridge 2012/2013 Lineup Announced

Written by Brayden Darke on August 2, 2012

Peats Ridge organisers have announced their initial lineup for the 2012/2013 event, which is taking place once again in one of Australia’s most stunning locations: Glenworth Valley. This year we’ll see one of the most requested bands in the Festival’s history: The John Butler Trio, joined by the power of soul super group, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings.

NZ group The Black Seeds will also be appearing, while the UK’s Friendly Fires will be coming over for a DJ Set. Other Aussie acts include The Herd, Mat. McHugh & The Seperatista Sound System and indie locals Deep Sea Arcade, to name a few. Check out the list of acts below.

Peats Ridge has in the past helped launch some of Australia’s greatest music sensations, like Angus & Julia Stone, The Temper Trap, Kate Miller-Heidke, Washington, and Cloud Control. Last year was headlined by Gotye, who was just starting his roll on to the international success he’s enjoyed this year. This new and incredibly diverse lineup continues to break new sounds, as well as showcase for the first time new local and international acts to the festival’s 10,000 plus per day fans.

Music is only a part of the whole experience though: a great community of festival revellers have all come to know and love Peats for being the site of a much bigger event, one filled with surprises and a break from the day-to-day. Arts and Theatre are everywhere you look, with installations, artisans and activities day and night.

The entire festival, as always, is completely sustainable, which means those with a conscience for being green cannot feel too guilty about giving your money without damaging the environment from an event of this scale.
