Primal Scream To Release ‘More Light’ On May 6

Primal Scream have announced details of their tenth album More Light, which is set for release on May 6.

In an interview with BBC Radio 6, frontman Bobby Gillespie said that the album will feature cameos from Mark Stewart (The Pop Group) and Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin).

David Holmes was again behind the producers desk for the record – the follow-up to 2008’s Beautiful Future.

Gillespie previously told Q Magazine in an interview back in September that the album would be pretty “guitar driven” and filled with “modern rock ‘n’ roll”.

“It’s a rock ‘n’ roll record, but modern rock ‘n’ roll. Pretty psychedelic rock, it’s kind of guitar-driven but we use guitars in an orchestral way, not in the normal way people make rock records.

“I think we do it in a more interesting way. We weave the guitars in with electronics and other acoustic instruments to make the core sound.”

Primal Scream were in the country last year for a series of sideshows and as headliners of the Meredith Festival.
