Robbie Williams: “Jessie J Will Disappear From The Music Industry Within 18 Months”

Robbie Williams has put a Price Tag (literally) on Jessie J‘s music career – giving her 18 months tops before she drops off the radar.

NME reports that when asked his opinion of J on a Dutch morning TV show, Williams didn’t give her much hope for a long and successful career.

“She’s not gonna last for very long, though, is she?,” Williams said.

“She’s great, Jessie. I give her 18 months.”

Jessie J was one of last year’s breakout artists, scoring worldwide hits and a role as a judge on the UK version of The Voice. She also performed at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony with Queen earlier this year, receiving mixed reactions for her performance of their hit We Will Rock You.

Williams also used the interview to take a swipe at reality shows such as The Voice and The X-Factor, saying he gets “exhausted” by them.

“I don’t watch it. Sometimes it’s very difficult to go on the ’emotional journey with the contestants’,” he said.

“I’m exhausted with how many times I’m to go on the emotional journey with this person who had a hard luck story and then da, da, da, da, blah, blah.”

Williams’ comments seem ironic since his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow is a judge on The X-Factor in the UK. Williams also performed on the show earlier this year and held a masterclass for some of the remaining contestants on the show.
