Sky Ferreira For Splendour In The Grass 2014?

Following the news that UK trio London Grammar are likely to return to Australia for a spot on the Splendour In The Grass 2014 lineup, American singer-songwriter, model, and actress Sky Ferreira has revealed that she will make her Australian live debut this July, coming, she says, “for a festival.”

The singer unveiled her long-delayed debut album, Night Time, My Time, back in October. The record is currently a feature album on Triple J, which saw the 21-year-old artist call in to The Doctor to discuss the making of the album as well as any upcoming Australian touring plans.

“I’ve never been to Australia before,” said Ferreira. “I’m definitely coming in July for a festival, I think. I’m not quite sure [of the exact date], but it’s in my summer.” Ferreira is currently slated to support pop singer Miley Cyrus on the North America leg of her highly-anticipated Bangerz Tour.

Speaking on her debut album, which was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Haim) and Justin Raise (Theophilus London, Charli XCX), Ferreira said, “We slammed it out… It was pretty quick, and I think that’s why it’s so cohesive compared to everything else I did.”

London Grammar revealed their Splendour In The Grass plans after guitarist Dan Rothman told The Vine last month, “We were supposed to play it this year but they couldn’t get us out there in time. It wasn’t going to work, so I think it’s always been the plan to go back next year.”

UPDATE 6:45pm 26/01/14: Ferreira has offered fans an update on her upcoming Australian appearances, telling theMusic, “I have no idea where I’m actually playing, but I’m coming in March. I thought it was July. Maybe I am coming back in July, but I’m definitely coming in March.”

The annual Splendour In The Grass festival is normally held from late July to early August.
