The cats behind Music NSW are chuffed to announce the inaugural Sydney Sound Summit Festival of Independent and Innovative Music 2013, revealing the flurry of musical goodness that comes in tow. Occupying an array of beloved music venues through out Sydney, the event boasts a solid lineup, with a strong international influence that should give the local music scene a shot in the arm.
So far, more than 50 Australian bands have been included in the festivities, with five international headliners including Germany’s Oval, Headsick from the UK, and Tyvek making the trip from Stateside with countrymen Container and Real Numbers.
The summit will also put a strong emphasis on the back end of the industry, inviting figures from influential record labels, collectives and movers and shakers such as PopFrenzy, Hunter-Gatherer, Moduluxx and many more. The shows will be going down at various local institutions, including The Red Rattler Theatre, Marrickville Bowling Club and 107 Projects in Redfern.
With the performance roster decided, fans will soon receive the details on the all-important summit panels, workshops and keynotes, a useful and important resource for those looking to further their knowledge of the music industry. The programs for these events will be released shortly.
