Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has hinted at a possible Australian tour in the not-too-distant future after speaking to Triple M reporter Lee Simon yesterday about his upcoming Songbook tour this October.
“We’re trying to put together an Australian tour right now, I can’t give you the 100% confirmation of ‘yes, we’re doing it now’, but we’ll definitely get there. It will be sooner rather than later.”
There had already been previous rumours about a tour earlier this year, after Australian promoters were at Lollapalooza 2010 in Chicago trying to lock down some dates. Evidently those rumours never eventuated.
Soundgarden are readying the release of their sixth studio album, due to be released around autumn next year.
